History of the Lacey Food Bank

Lacey Food Bank - ARCHIVES

The next distribution is the third Friday, Feb. 17th, at Community Hall, corner of Route 9 and Lacey Rd, from  8:30-10:30 am.

 

 

Eligibility Requirements

To register, apply at the Administrator's office, 818 Lacey Rd. at the Municipal Bldg. Clients must be Lacey residents and provide proof of residency & income.Clients receiving food stamps or who are on the WIC or PAAD programs are automatically eligible with other low income families eligible on an individual basis depending on income, size of family and most importantly, the need.

Food distribution is held on third Friday of each month
with the exception of months that have five Fridays, then it will be on  the fourth Friday  (see schedule below)
 
Those who are infirm or homebound can call the Chairman at 693-8703 or Dick at 693-6357 to receive home delivery.
 
Transportation to the Food Bank is provided by the recreation department. To arrange a ride call them at 693-1100 (town hall) then extension 203 ( recreation department)

The schedule for 2005 is: Jan. 21,  Feb. 18,
March 18, April 22 *,
 May 20, June 17, July 22*, Aug 19, Sept 23, Oct.21, November 18th and December 16.
*  =  the fourth Friday
 
PLEASE NOTE:DISTRIBUTION WILL BE HELD AT COMMUNITY HALL, CORNER OF ROUTE 9 AND LACEY ROAD UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
 
 
 

The stated mission of the Lacey Food Bank Program is that no one in Lacey shall go to bed hungry. We call on the community to reach out, find the needy and help them enroll in the program. Look around you at your neighbors - an elderly housebound person perhaps?Or a needy youngster in your class? Transportation or home delivery can be arranged.  Help us to help them.
Emergency food situations are met at all times.

VOLUNTEER SCHEDULE

Regular weekly work sessions every Tuesday from 8:30-10:30 am at the food bank building. Additional Monday work dates will be called for when needed. We  also work at Community Hall on the third or fourth Thursday of each month ( the day before distribution ) from 12:30-3 pm as well as the next day which would be either  the third or 4th Friday  from 8-11 am) The Chairman will call when extra work sessions are needed. The "Big Blue Crew" also picks up food from the barrels in ShopRite on a daily basis.
