Lacey Food Bank - ARCHIVES

All of us at the Lacey Food Bank give thanks to the
Ocean First Bank Foundation for their generosity. This is also our very first grant. The gift embodies the true meaning of our motto -
"A Community Caring...by Sharing "
*
The fund raising process is ongoing
and can be frustrating. We must continue to raise money on a regular basis so that we can continue to serve the clients
in a meaningful way. If you, a friend or a relative know of any large corporations that give grants to fight poverty
and feed the hungry give us a call or refer our cause to them .
*
FINALLY !
The Lacey Food Bank is proud to proclaim
that on January 17, 2002 we were officially certified by the State of NJ as a non-profit corporation "Lacey Food
Bank, Inc." and as such qualify under the provisions of the IRS section 501(c) (3) as a tax exempt publicly supported charitable
organization. What does this mean? Well, it qualifies us to give tax receipts to donors for income tax purposes, enables us
to get free government surplus food, and to purchase items for the food bank exempt from taxation by the State of NJ.
We give our sincere thanks to our volunteer trustee and registered agent, Lois Guthrie, proprietress of Lois Guthrie Financial
Services, for all the work and frustration she encountered in gaining us this very important designation.
THE ESTEEMED SPONSOR PROGRAM
What is an esteemed sponsor? We give this designation to a contributor who contributes
toward the support of at least one client annually. At a cost of $240 a year, or in the case of a few of our contributors,
monthly donations equaling that, some esteemed sponsors support one, two or even six clients. Wouldn't YOU like to join this
exclusive list? Do you know a potential sponsor? Tell them about this program and encourage them to participate!
